Riverside Brand Vernal Alfalfa Seed Sack / Apron for Women Size XS-M

A heavy-duty alfalfa seed sack will make a sturdy apron for your time in the kitchen. Riverside Brand was the name of this "super quality" seed, with this sack provided by Lynnville Seed Co. of Lynville, Iowa. The beige sack features a wonderful diagonal red stripe design at the top and bottom. The lettering is in red and blue. Also on the sack is a design showing a forest, mountain and river scene in blue and green.

The seam edges have been turned under to prevent fraying. The holes from the original stitching can still be seen, as shown in one of the photos. This sack is authentic and not a reproduction. It is in wonderful condition with just a few marks. Vintage red trim is used for the neck and waist ties. Simply put a knot in the neck tie to adjust length.

Vernal alfalfa seed was released in 1953, and has been considered a mainstay in alfalfa seed. Newer varieties have overtaken hardiness and productivity, but it is still considered to be a standard when conducting comparison tests.

The apron waist is 25 inches.
The length is 29 inches (rather short).
The ties are 31 inches.
This apron best fits sizes extra small to medium.
Cold water wash and line dry are recommended to prevent further fading of the logo and wording.
