The simplicity of the design on the vintage bag used for this apron is its' greatest asset!
Western Queen Flour once was held in the sack that features a sketch of a sweet little girl with the curls galore and a large hair bow. Circling her are the words "Western Queen Flour" and "Baby Face, Pure - White - Wholesome, Registered in United States Patent Office." The words "Western Queen Flour" are written again vertically on each side of the logo. The apron is trimmed in black. To adjust the length, simply place a knot in the single neck tie where desired.
The apron does have a few issues, including some larger, darker spots as shown in the photos. There also are general stains as are typical of this age of sack. Four patches have been made, also shown in the photos. There also are a few other small holes that all could eventually grow larger if you wash this apron a lot or use it for heavy work. The fabric is fairly thin, and this sack is very old, so you may want to use it for decoration only. Please consider all of these factors before purchase.
The bodice width is 12 inches.
The waist is 29 1/2 inches.
The length is 33 inches from the top bodice center to the hemline.
The waist ties are each 29 inches.
This apron best fits women's sizes small, medium or large.
Cold water wash and line dry are recommended to prevent fading and shrinking.
While I have not found any historical information on Western Queen Flour, I have seen websites with the company's logo on a letterhead. Words below the logo read "Terre Haute Commision Co., Distributors, Terre Haute, Indiana."
* Please keep in mind this apron was created from an authentic vintage cloth sack. Photos show the design and print darker than in actuality. While the apron is described as accurately as possible, due to the vintage quality there may be age marks not noted specifically.
